Wellness Center

All students attending Chicago State University, contributing to the Health Fee and with a valid CSU Identification Card are eligible to use the Wellness/Health Center.

Additional charges may be assessed for office visits and some services not covered by Health Insurance including some immunizations, pharmacy, laboratory and office procedures.

The Wellness/Health Center is not an emergency department. In the event of an emergency, immediately notify University Police at EXT. 2111 to call for an ambulance! If you are in need of immediate medical attention, the nearest hospitals equipped to handle emergencies are:

Amanda Harris is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned Associates degree in nursing at Moraine Valley Community College and went on to complete her Bachelor’s and Masters degree in Nursing at Governors State University. Amanda has worked in a variety of clinical settings. From 2014 to 2020 she provided direct patient care in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse. She has experience with Telemetry, Medical Surgical, ER, and ICU patients. As an APRN, Amanda has experience in Primary and Urgent Care settings. Amanda believes in patient-centered care and building trusting relationships. She focuses on health promotion and enjoys educating. She has a strong educational background and currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Governors State University. Amanda is excited to bring her years of experience and quality care to the students and staff at Chicago State University.

• Provide primary healthcare and wellness programs for all CSU students, faculty and staff.
• Serve as a health consultant and referral source for medical issues.
• Act as a liaison for health issues that affect students, faculty and staff.
• Develop, collaborate and conduct outreach health programs with the surrounding community.
